In this guide, I’ll disassemble an Asus A53.
Make sure the laptop is turned off.
And be aware:
1. If you want to clean or change the silica gel, you must disassemble the laptop completely till the motherboard is removed.
2. The screws removed must be put in order and every cable must be carefully handled. I accidently press the audio power cable which leads to no sound of the right louder speaker. Luckily the cable was fine and I reassembled it then it worked again.
Turn off the laptop and remove the battery.
Remove 8 screws in the picture, keep them in order.
Remove the memory chips, unplug the signal line.
The memory chips is clipped and the signal line can be unplugged directly.
Remove 4 screws, pinch the part the direction shows and remove the hard drive.
Use a small screwdriver to remove the screws and put them in order.
The screw marked with an arrow securing the C side. Unscrew it.
Pry up the 5 clips below and remove the keyboard slowly.
Be careful with the ribbon wires.
Clip the black card marked with arrow on the left to the right gently and remove the keyboard cable.
Pull up the yellow tape marked with big circles to remove the ribbon wires.
The right arrow shows the position of screw securing the optical drive. Remove it and the other 6 screws. Put them in order.
Remove 3 small screws on the right side and check if there is any other small screw missed after unplug the optical drive.
Pry up the revolving axis marked with arrows with a straight screwdriver, then scratch along the edges from the marked circle.
After removing C side, Unplug the ribbon wires (1 2 3) and be careful with the battery cable behind.
Remove 6 screws.
Turn it over, unplug the power cable of the fan.
Remove 7 screws and remove the fan. Prepare the silica gel.
You can smear silica gel on the marked places.
